🎓 Eligibility Criteria:(CSIR NIO Apprentice Recruitment 2026)
You must hold the required qualification in the relevant trade and meet the age and other conditions. Please read each point carefully.
Educational Qualification:
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: A full-time 3-year Diploma in the relevant branch — Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering, or Computer Engineering / Information Technology.
- Office & Administration: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (B.A., B.B.A., B.Com., or B.Sc. or equivalent).
- R&D in Oceanography: A Bachelor’s degree in any science subject such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Marine Science, Geology, Computer Science, or IT.
- Library Science: Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science from a UGC-recognised university.
- Nursing (Dispensary): B.Sc. in Nursing or equivalent.
- Hotel / Hospitality Management: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or equivalent.
- Desktop Publishing: Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Photography, Videography, or Visual Communication or equivalent.

Age relaxation in the upper limit is allowed as per Government of India rules — 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), up to 10 years for PwBD, and as applicable for Ex-Servicemen.

- You must have passed the qualifying exam in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.
- You must be registered on the NATS (Apprenticeship) portal.
- You must not have done or be doing apprenticeship training elsewhere, and must not have one year or more of work experience.

The Office & Administration slots cover work in HR, Finance & Accounts, and Stores & Purchase. In total, there are 4 Technician and 23 Graduate apprentice slots, making 27 posts.

The apprentices receive a fixed monthly stipend during the one-year training. This stipend is a training-based payment and not a regular salary, and the amount depends on your apprentice category.
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: ₹10,900 per month

The monthly stipend ranges from ₹10,900 to ₹12,300, which is a solid support amount while you gain real work experience for one full year.

The selection is done through a Walk-in Interview, with document verification on the spot.
Walk-in Interview
All eligible candidates must appear for the walk-in interview on 6 July 2026 at CSIR-NIO, Dona Paula, Goa. You must report between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM — candidates reaching after 10:00 AM will not be allowed.
Possible Written Test
If a very large number of candidates turn up, the selection committee may first conduct a short written test to shortlist candidates for the interview, in proportion to the available slots.
