BPSSC ASI Technical Recruitment 2026.The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC), Patna has released its much-awaited notification for 22 Assistant Sub-Inspector (Technical) — Bihar Police Radio (Wireless) posts under Advertisement Number 07/2026. The recruitment is open to candidates who hold a three-year Diploma in Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Tele-Communication, Information Technology or Electrical & Electronics. Selected candidates will join at Pay Level-5 of the Bihar 7th CPC Pay Matrix, drawing approximately Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300 per month plus admissible allowances.

The selection is in three written / physical stages — a Preliminary Exam, a two-paper Main Exam, and a Physical Efficiency / Measurement Test (PET / PMT) — followed by Medical Examination and Character Verification. Selected ASI (Technical) candidates will be placed at Pay Level-5 of the Bihar 7th CPC Pay Matrix, which corresponds to a basic pay band of approximately Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300 per month, plus standard Bihar police allowances.

The selection process will be based on into four stages. The final merit is determined only on the basis of Paper-2 (Technical) score in the Main Examination — all other stages are either qualifying or used for short-listing.

1. Preliminary Written Exam — Objective MCQ, 100 marks, 120 minutes. 40 questions on General Knowledge & Current Affairs + 60 questions on the chosen technical group. Qualifying mark 30%; negative marking 0.2 per wrong answer. Shortlisting at 20× vacancies, category-wise on merit.
2. Main Examination — Paper-1 (Qualifying) — General Language Knowledge: General Hindi (50) + General English (50) = 100 marks, 90 minutes. Minimum 30 marks required to qualify; marks NOT counted in final merit.
3. Main Examination — Paper-2 (Merit-determining) — Technical Subject: 100 marks, 180 minutes. Minimum 33% to qualify. Negative marking 0.2. Shortlisting at 5× vacancies for PET, category-wise on merit.
4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Measurement Test (PMT) — running, high jump, long jump and shot put. Qualifying only — no marks added to merit.
5. Medical Examination & Character / Antecedent Verification — final stage before appointment.

Physical Standards (PMT)

• Height: 165 cm (UR / BC Male) / 160 cm (EBC / SC / ST Male) / 155 cm (all-category Female)
• Chest (Male only): 81 – 86 cm (UR / BC / EBC) or 79 – 84 cm (SC / ST); minimum 5 cm expansion mandatory
• Weight (Female): Minimum 48 kg
• Third Gender: Same standards as Backward Class

PET Events (Qualifying)

• Running: 1 mile in 7 minutes (Male) / 1 km in 7 minutes (Female)
• High Jump: 3’6″ (Male) / 2’6″ (Female)
• Long Jump: 10 feet (Male) / 7 feet (Female)
• Shot Put: 16 lb / 14 feet (Male), 12 lb / 8 feet (Female)
